CRK: what external encoder can I use?

Postby om_tech_support_JT » Thu Aug 29, 2013 3:33 pm

Q: What kind of encoders can I use with the CRD507-KP CRK series driver with built-in stored program controller? Is the encoder resolution limited in anyway?

A: If the misstep detection function or the self correction function is not used, the encoder resolution will not be limited in any way. Just connect an encoder meeting the required specification. If the misstep detection function or self correction function is used, use of an encoder with a resolution of 500 P/R is recommended for motors whose basic step angle is 0.72° (1000 P/R for motors whose basic step angle is 0.36°.)
