AZ Wrap Setting Conditions

Postby om_tech_support_PB » Mon Sep 24, 2018 10:22 am

Q: I have an AZ system, and I am trying to set a wrap setting for 270 degrees, or 0.75 of a motor revolution, but am unable to do so. What conditions must be met in order to set a wrap range on your AZ products.

A: Information on setting the wrap function starts on page 39 of the AZ Function manual. The manual can be found here:

However, the conditions that must be met in order to set a valid wrap setting range can be found on page 41. You can see them in the photo below.

The next photo will show the limitations for when entering a wrap setting range into the MEXE02 software.

So given the desired setting of 270 degrees, or 0.75 of a motor revolution, both conditions do come out as integers.
(1) 1800 / .75 = 2700
(2) 0.75 x 1000 = 750

However, there is actually a third condition that must be met due to the design of the AZ motor structure, and that is that the wrap setting range (in degrees) must be divisible by 7.2 degrees. In this case, you can see it does not come out as an integer.

270 / 7.2 = 37.5

Therefore, unfortunately, 270 degrees of a motor revolution is not a valid wrap setting range. For further explanation or questions on this feature, please contact technical support.
