Stepper Motor with Positioning Feedback Signal (like servo motor)

Postby essenceindia » Mon Jun 18, 2018 6:04 am

Hi,

Good Day !!

We required the clarifications pertaining to stepper motor + controller with positioning feedback signal (like servo motor), so please suggest us best economical series in the Oriental Motor to proceed further in this regard.

1. Stepper Motor with Controller with default (resolver) positioning feedback signals (like servo motor)
2. Stepper Motor with Controller with Encoder Feedback Signal (Like servo motor)
3. CVK Series, Stepper Motor (Double End Shaft) with External Encoder feedback signals (like servo motor)

We would like to use above both of the options as a feedback singles, so please specify the difference between both of the systems to proceed further in this regard.

Please provide us right solution in this regard.

Hi Essenceindia,

For stepper motor and drivers that offer a feedback signal both the AR and AZ series have the ASG/BSG as a feedback output. For the AR series the pulse input type driver offers the resolver feedback via ASG/BSG. For more information about the AR series ASG/BSG output please refer to the link below.

For the AZ series all the drivers offer the encoder feedback via the ASG/BSG outputs. For more information about the ASG/BSG outputs please refer to the link below.

Hi,
Good Day !!

Thankyou verymuch for your valued reply.

Also please let us know weather CVK Series, Stepper Motor (Double End Shaft) with External Encoder feedback signals (like servo motor) would be working like with AR Series & AZ Series ??

Why because, we required economical version for this project, so requested to please specify the same.

Also Requested to please clarify the difference and advantages, disadvantages and futures to proceed further in this matter.

thanking you & best regards,

The CVK series is an open loop system so there is no feedback to the driver. We do offer PKP motors with encoders but the feedback would have to go to a controller. For the controller we offer the SCX11 (linked below) which has an input for an external encoder.

https://catalog.orientalmotor.com/item/ ... ller/scx11

AR and AZ series are closed loop so the feedback goes back to the driver which automatically corrects the position of the motor. If it cannot correct because the load is to great for the motor then it will generate a position deviation alarm.

Hi !!
Good Day !!

With reference to your below mail, and thankyou verymuch for the same.

The customer would like to take feedback from CVK series Double Ended Shaft Stepper Motor through external encoder, since they are not willing to take our PKP Motors with encoder + SCX11 controller combination due to the price variation.

In this case, shall we suggest to customer by using our CVK268BK with third party external encoder combination for taking feedback signal from encoder ??

Please advise how to proceed further in this matter.

Hi essenceindia,

Yes then it would be recommended to use CVK268BK with third party external encoder to get feedback from the motor.

Hi,
Good Day !!

With reference to the above message (Yes then it would be recommended to use CVK268BK with third party external encoder to get feedback from the motor.)

AS our customer willing to go ahead with CVK268BK & CVK569FMB models with external Encoder option for getting feedback from the Motor, so you are requested to please provide us the wiring diagram details to proceed further in this matter.

Also our customer would like to use extension cable from driver to motor around 10~20 mtrs, so please let us know your confirmation to proceed further in this regard.

thanking you & best regards,

Hi Essenceindia,

For the external encoder feedback it would be wired to the controller not the CVK drives. If they choose the SCX11 controller linked below are the wiring diagrams for external encoders.

https://www.orientalmotor.com/products/ ... df#page=71

For the lead wire length between the motor and drive for CVK268BK & CVK569FMB keep the wiring distance as short as possible [less than 2 m (6.6 ft.)] to suppress the effect of noise.
