BMU connection cable types

For the BMU driver, you will need a connection cable between the motor to the driver. There are 2 different types of connection cables offered with this series. A forward facing or backward facing cable. It is important to note that the direction is not interchangeable. They are offered from 0.5-10 meters in length. If your application requires a connection cable longer than 10.5 meters, our BLE2 series driver can handle a length up to 20.5 meters with the same BLM motor.

The F type connector faces towards the output shaft noted in the picture below. If you have a round shaft (a motor without a gearbox attached to the motor), the F type cable will not be able to bend enough if there is something above the motor mount. With a gear box, the added space would allow the cable to flex enough to bend out of the way. If you need the F type connection on a motor that does not have a gearbox, you must make sure nothing is impeding the cable where it is mounted.

In addition to the connection cable, we also offer a flexible cable and an extension cable. The flexible and extension cables will go in between the connection cable and the driver. The maximum total length of the cables can not exceed 10.5 meters to prevent electrical noise.

The connection cable is connected to CN3, CN2, and protective earth terminal on the driver. Be sure to fully seat the connection cable on the motor before locking the lever.
