Q: Can I use a torque motor with a right-angle gearhead?
A: No. Since our right-angle gearheads have higher gear friction thus making it harder to back drive, sometimes the torque motor will not have enough torque to turn the gears inside the gearhead plus the load on the output shaft (especially if operating at a lower voltage). Therefore, we do not recommend using torque motors with our right-angle gearheads. We would suggest using parallel shaft gearheads with our torque motors for the most optimal performance.
