Overhung and Thrust Load Common Specifications

Postby om_tech_support_JT » Thu Dec 20, 2012 6:33 pm

Q: Where can I find overhung and thrust load specifications of your step motors? I'm using a PK series motor for a belt-pulley system, and I need data on how much loading the bearing in the motor can withstand as the belt for pulley is mounted on the motor shaft which needs pre-tensioning.

A: Here's the link for the common specifications of our step motors which includes overhung and thrust loads:

The maximum overhung load on the step motor shaft will depend on where the pulley is mounted to the shaft. That's why we show different overhung load values for different distances from shaft end. You may have to make an estimate based on the information we provide to determine your max overhung load at your specified distance.
