Oriental Motor is pleased to announce the BXII (BX 2)Series Brushless Motor and Driver package. The BXII replaces our popular BX Series and now offers an all new driver with the same high performance brushless DC motor and geared options. With 30 Watt up to 400 Watt, round shaft, parallel shaft gearheads or the hollow shaft flat gearhead, the BXII Series now provides the highest level of speed control, up to 4,000 r/min with a speed regulation of +0.05%. Utilize the built-in positioning function or torque limiting functions with no additional control module required as the new driver features a digital setting directly on the face of the drive. Also, the new driver can utilize our popular MEXE02 software (free download) or if remote programing is required, our standard OPX-2A control module (sold separately) can now be utilized. The BXII series comes standard with a 3m (9.8 ft) cable included.
The driver is all new, the motors are the same high torque high power brushless DC, from 30 watt up to 400 watt. With the new driver, traditional analog settings are available and now the digital settings can be accessed on the front panel or via the MEXE02 software. Digital settings allow for more speed control in the lower range (down to 2 r/min) along with up to 16 preset positioning points. Positioning can be absolute or incremental. The maximum speed range has also been increased up to 4,000 r/min (analog or digital).
The parallel geared type produces up to 610 lb-in (70 N-m) of torque and the hollow shaft flat geared type produces up to 970 lb-in (110 N-m) of torque. The motor and gears come pre-assembled.
Speed Control Mode:
o Digital: 2 – 4,000 r/min
o Analog: 30 – 4,000 r/min
Positioning Control Mode:
o 16 Points (Digital)
o Resolution 0.72°
o Independent, Linked, CW/CCW
o 0 – 250%, , +/- 10% accuracy
o 1% increments (Digital)
New with the BXII Series, the Digital Settings are available to access 3 different ways. Digital settings are needed for Position control.
- Front Face of the driver
- MEXE02 software (previously not available on the BX Series), for simple programing with a PC. Use the CC05IF-USB to connect the driver to a computer (sold separately).
- OPX-2A new controller module can be used for remote programing/monitoring.
*Note: The BXII Series is not part of our FLEX product group and does not accept RS-485 communications.
Speed and Torque control can be done in the analog mode using an external potentiometer, PAVR-20KZ (sold separately) or DC voltage (0 ~ 10 VDC).
Now the 400 Watt versions are available with single-phase 200~240 VAC giving it a complete input voltage offering to choose from.
Motor / Gearheads:
The same high performance brushless DC motors and gearheads are used with the BXII Series. All torque values, dimensions and shaft outputs are the same as with the BX series.
*Note: There are no inch shafts available with the BXII Series.
A full line of extension cables and flexible extension cables are available with a maximum extension up to 30m (98.4 ft).
The motor connector on the driver is different than the motor connector on the motor and to make these match, there are conversion cables included in the package and in the driver only purchase (if ordered). See image below for wiring details.
The BXII Series is competitively priced, and compared to servo systems, is about 30%~50% less as the motor, gear, driver, all cables plus free software* are included in the price. Compared to the BX Series, with the 3m (9.8 ft.) cables, the BXII Series is attractively priced and with the digital settings built in or use of the software, adds additional value.
