Oriental Motor USA is proud to introduce our new 200 watt (1/4 HP) KIIS (K2S) series hypoid gear with terminal box. This is a line-up addition to the existing KIIS (K2S) series which currently features the 60W (1/12 HP) and 100W (1/8 HP) three-phase motors. This 200W (1/4HP) model continues the KIIS Series advantages with an all new motor design, focused on improving efficiency (77.8% vs 70.3% BH Series) and optimized for use with inverters (VFDs). Our new hypoid right angle gearhead produces up to 1680 lb-in (190 N-m) of torque along with IP66 Protection (also new). Also, all KIIS (K2S) series feature fan-less motors due to their high efficiency design thus decreasing overall length. They are also great for for dusty or dirty environments or low noise areas.
The demand for higher efficiency, more torque in a space savings package continues to grow. Based on our advanced technology, we are able to meet this demand now in a larger wattage/HP range, replacing our existing BH series right angle gearmotors. Currently Oriental Motor is only offering this with our new hypoid right angle gearheads.
The 200W (1/4HP) KIIS Series with terminal box and hypoid gearhead saves energy by up to 10%, is ideal for space savings, applications requiring a large amount of torque and / or an IP66 type rating. Also, using a fan-less design keeps small particles from moving around. Strong advantages or found in the higher gear ratios, starting at 40:1 up to 240:1 (180:1 was max gear ratio for BH series).

Note1: When using with an inverter (VFD) maximum inverter frequency is 100 Hz (3,000 rpm) with hypoid gear.
Note 2: No built-in overheat protection device (thermal protector). When there is an overload or the output shaft is locked, use the electromagnetic switch and the inverter’s electronic thermal function to prevent motor burnout.
The torque arm is a good accessory that should be introduced and explained when introducing the KIIS Series with hypoid gear.

The torque arm can help the assembly process which also can improve the life of the gearhead. Ideal for the hollow shaft type.
• Helps to center the shaft as mounting is not rigid as with a typical 4 screw mounting plate. Allows for adjustments before tightening the motor down.
• There is no need to force the solid shaft into the hollow gearhead due to this flexibility.
• 4 screws are included with gearhead and with the torque arm, there is no need for mounting bolts as the torque arm has 4 threaded holes for mounting.
• The torque arm can be mounted in any direction.
