Re: AZD-CD Just read DINn Input signal ?

I am still disturbed. I think I did exactly what you say: 1). 10 registers from 1080h are set to 0. 2). then immediately (No reboot nor reconfig) Input signal set on PIN 18 of connector CN5 Nevertheless the RV-JOG function is still being triggered as long as the input signal is applied. I want set s...

AZD-CD Just read DINn Input signal ?

I try to catch a DIN signal over MODBUS on a AZD-CD, after having dissociated that signal from any internal function in the driver. In order to do this I write zeroes into 10 registers from address 1080h. I assume this way all DIN (DIN0...DIN9) input does not trigger any driver function any more. 1 ...

AZD-DC Driver Power LED is lit RED.

By accident the AZD-DC Driver got 220V AC on DIN9 port. The driver Power LED went into RED (b.t.w. the meaning of steady RED is not mentioned in the Driver Operating Manual). I can imagine there went something wrong in the driver. Normally this DIN port is opto-isolated from the driver main board, b...

AZ Series - Dynamic speed and Position

According the AZ Series Function Edition (HM-60262-7) As I understand, under standard programming using Stored Data Operation - 256 Operations can be preset/stored at adresses 1800h...57C0h - Each operation starts from a motor halt state, motor speed increases, remains constant for a while and final...

Solved: Unexplained exception for ReadWrite Multiple Registers (FC 17h)

Eureka ! The Driver firmware update showed the following Driver 2 (without the FC 17h problem) was on Version V4.30 Driver 1 (with the FC 17h problem) was on Version V4.10. After update (to V4.30) the problem disappeared. I assume the FC 17h was not implemented at the time V4.10 came out, and the ex...

Re: Unexplained exception for ReadWrite Multiple Registers (FC 17h)

Hello, As the Modbus program acts similarly on both drivers, I now did the following test: Start the program as usual, with the trace (1) indicating the Read/Write error (FC 17h) on slave 1. Before and after FC 17h I do a Read of the data to be written. Nothing has been written, and therefore maybe ...

Re: Unexplained exception for ReadWrite Multiple Registers (FC 17h)

Trace according your request ! The 17h Function is writing 10 registers at 1216h, reading 32 registers at 1200h. If an exception is encountered here, now a Diagnose function (08h) is exchanged. Conclusion (cfr trace file): the R/W function (17h) on slave 2 is always successful. the R/W function (17h...

Unexplained exception for ReadWrite Multiple Registers (FC 17h)

Here a trace of a Modbus communication to two equivalent drivers AZD-CD, called with the same commands. I discovered 2 inexplicable communication conducts. 1). First on driver 2 a Read/Write-Registers command is issued (FC 17hex, displayed as 17x) That query is successfully being replied as shown in...

Re: Meaning of each bit of the Information Record?

O.K. but only with the mnemonic I cannot proceed. For programming purposes, such mnemonic needs an underlying value e,g, INFO-USRIO 0001h INFO-POSERR 0002h INFO-DRVTMP 0004h or alike. Only this way the Information record, which consists of one 32-bit word can be analyzed. Where can I find such a lis...

Meaning of each bit of the Information Record?

Where can I find the meaning of each bit of the "Information Record" contents, once that double-register word has been read over RSD485/MODbus?
at page 375 the Function Edition states it at address 0a20h for Information Record 1 but no explanation of the meaning thereof.

Re: Sporadic RS485 MODbus communication failure

I changed my application so that now when a new MODbus request with a slave ID different from previous ID has to be issued,
I first do a sleep of 5ms. This avoids all Communication Errors (84h) I got switching axis.

A sleep time of 3ms was not enough.

Driver Interference alarm 84h when executing D-SEL0 action.

The setup consists of 2 drivers (SlaveID#1 and slaveID#2), daisy chained accessed over RS485/MODbus from a PC, without any external input nor output. Sporadic RS485 MODbus communication failure

My setup is a RS485 wiring from a PC to the first driver(slave 2) (cable length 4m), daisy chained to the second driver (slave 1)(cable length .5m) Second driver has termination resistors set using the switches on the driver. Communication is at 9600Baud. There is no 120Ohm resistor at the RS485 PC ...

Re: Why I cannot execute a ZHOME over MODbus ?

Hy, It appears that without the MEX02 connection, the MODbus RS485 now allows to execute the ZHOME operation. I even managed to execute a direct operation writing registers to register address 0058h However I am now stuck trying to execute from an existing operation data: First the OD #254 and #255 ...

Start Operation data with RS485/MODbus

I went often though the Function Edition manual tying to find how to start the stepper motor, but didn't found any clear example. I read to execute a START ON, followed by a START OFF (writing 8 to reg 007Dh, then 0 to reg 007Dh) but how can one select on which one of the 256 Operation Data the STAR...
