Re: Having trouble driving 0.36deg stepper motor with ARD-K and Galil DMC 40x0 controller

Hi John, The drive manual shows connections for either sink or source and the galil controller can connect as sink/source as well. So I thought I can connect either way. But you are stating this drive requires a source connection. I have used CSD2140T and CVK (CVD228 K) drives with this same galil c...

Having trouble driving 0.36deg stepper motor with ARD-K and Galil DMC 40x0 controller

I am unable to drive motor (with AR69MK-3) using Galil DMC 4030 step/dir signals. Please check my setup/connections below. Let me know if I am forgetting something or have incorrect connections and any other info you need from me. I have checked the following before motor operation; ⋅ Moto...

Re: Stepper Motor and Drive Info

Thanks you for your recommendation. This is good I wanted a smaller driver as well. I prefer actual connectors instead of terminals too. We will probably go with the higher 2.3NM torque motor.

Re: Stepper Motor and Drive Info

I just realized the last post was by a user and not OM tech.

Cliff if you still have other questions please PM me. Thanks.

I am reopening this thread instead of making a new one. I hope a OM tech can help me. I need a solution quickly. Yet again I am on a tight deadline.

Thanks

Re: Stepper Motor and Drive Info

Sorry For the very late reply, Our systems and communications to our internal software are based mostly off Galil interface and with the last upgrade/design we wanted to consolidate and only have to communicate to one controller without having to change our software. The Velmex controller is a large ...

CSD2140T Stepper Drive Estop

Hi, currently my Estop shuts off AC power to the CSD2140T driver's 24vdc powersupply. Can my Estop cutout the DC output of power supply (DC input to stepper drive)?

Re: Stepper Motor and Drive Info

Both wiring are not working properly. The motor seems to be stalling. I tried a 5A PS supply and still same result. It seems to work when a make small position in both directions but when i try to move longer it seems to try to move but it doesnt move at all. When i switched the jumper to half step ...

Re: Stepper Motor and Drive Info

HI, In the manual it states for the CSD2140T TB2, Pin 1 - Red Pin 2 - Blue Pin 3 - Green Pin 4 - Black Pin 5 - Yellow Pin 6 - White Pin 1 is silkscreened on the PCB as 1 closest to the side mounting/heatsinking plate. Is this correct? I did not find any diagrams from the manual or diagrams to confir...

Re: Stepper Motor and Drive Info

The csk manual for the csd2140t drives indicates connection of motor color wires to TB2 pin 1-6. The proprietary motor that came with the OEM has different colour wires. But they indicated which pins connect to a 6 pin unipolor connections (A1,A2,AC,B1,B2,BC) with a diagram found on the link below h...

Re: Stepper Motor and Drive Info

Hi,

Would you be able to provide specs for the input power consumption for the CSD2140T driver at 3A/phase output? I could not find it in the datasheets or manual. I just want to confirm that a 24V 3.5A DC power supply is a sufficient source.

Thanks

Re: Stepper Motor and Drive Info

Thank you again. You have been very helpful. I really appreciate it. Currently we need to keep using exisiting OEM Linear stages and motor combinations as we have systems currently using it. We are tight for time and redesigning our Y-axis slide set up is not an option now. We may set time in the fu...

Re: Stepper Motor and Drive Info

Actually the Datasheet you shared was helpful. This is the OEMs motor wiring, http://www.velmex.com/motor_wiring.html I have another question, what guage wire do I need on the pk266-03B motor to the CSD2140T. I may need to extend it through a patch panel interface. The CSK manual states 20-18 AWG fo...

Re: Stepper Motor and Drive Info

Hi sorry for the late reply. The motor is wired as a 2 phase unipolar connection. 8 lead motor with wires combine at AC and BC. Our motor is connectorized with a 6 pin molex connector. The Motor lead pinouts and color differ from the OEM supplier and from the CSD2140T manual. The manual only provide...

Re: Stepper Motor and Drive Info

Hi, I am confused now. You recommended the CSD2140T for the PK266-03B motor. In your previous post you stated that it is not an ideal combination unless we make some adjustments to the operating current. We need to use this motor so we need the best driver that meets the specs. What is our best opti...

I think I was looking at the wrong datasheet/manual. I cant see the CSD manual. I only see documents for CSK series drives.

Re: Stepper Motor and Drive Info

Hi,

So the supply for CSD2140T is spec for a 24VDC (10%) 5A or more according to the operating manual. Is this required for the PK266-03B motor? The OEM controller supply was only 2.5A for the PK266-03B-P2 motor. Can I use a 3.5A supply?

Stepper Motor and Drive Info

Hi, We have a Velmex stage and oriental motor, PK266-03B-P2. Currently we use Velmex motor control. We would like to use this motor with a Galil motion controller (DMC-40x0 no amplifier). I was also informed that PK266-03B-P2 is a proprietary motor and no specs or data sheets are available as it bel...
