Q: Does the SCX10's 5v/24v SINK/SOURCE setting switch affect the 15 pin D-sub connector?

A: No it does not. The SCX10 controller's 5v/24v, SINK/SOURCE voltage and logic switch only affects the 25 pin D-sub connections. It also does not affect the pulse and direction signals. The 15 pin D-sub connector will accept either 5 or 24 VDC and either sinking or sourcing. We have bidirectional diodes and a lot of resistance in our circuits to handle the current flow. Please refer to the CONNECTION EXAMPLE OF I/O in the SCX10 manual, and follow the wiring diagrams.
